monni and kyle | just married | duncan, bc

this past saturday, shannon and i had the pleasure of photographing monni and kyle’s wedding celebration. it was a perfect day for a wedding. the sun was shining but it wasn’t too hot.

monni and kyle met six years ago while they were attending kwantlen university together. both were there on sport scholarships – he played for the men’s baseball team and she played for the women’s basketball team. their love for sport was what drew them together. they are an active couple and enjoy spending time together and with their families.

we began our day with the bride and her girls at their hotel in chemainus. monni had the most beautiful wedding gown! i loved all the detail in it!  their wedding ceremony was held at st. edward’s catholic parish in duncan, bc. for their formals, we went to the groom’s grandfather’s property in maplebay. while talking to his grandfather, i learned that his property was the original site where camp imadene was once located. it’s an amazing location and we were forever grateful that he allowed us to photograph the wedding party there.

congratulations monni and kyle! i wish you many years of joy, love and happiness! enjoy your honeymoon!

and thanks again shannon for coming over to shoot with me! you are the best second shooter, ev-ah!! love ya!

the simple, yet beautiful wedding bouquets were created by leaf and petal custom flowers, duncan, bc.

i love this next image! kids being kids! perfect for a wedding portrait, don’t you think?

lindsay and peter | just married | merridale estate cidery

last saturday it rained. it was the first rainy day that we’ve had all summer long. but it didn’t hamper any of the celebrations around lindsay and peter’s wedding day! in fact, i think it made it even better… at least for picture taking.

their ceremony took place at st. peter’s parish in duncan, bc.  lindsay loves old fashioned, vintage things with a modern twist and designed her wedding with that in mind – everything from her shoes to her jewelry,  to using her Mom’s jug collection and other antique containers for the floral arrangements, which were all designed by the very talented jenny and vanessa of verbena floral design, victoria, bc. it was great meeting you both!

lindsay and peter chose to have thier reception at merridale estate cidery, one of my very favorite local places! it’s such an amazing venue for portraits! and as fate would have it, the rain stopped just long enough for us to get some ah-mazing portraits!  a huge thanks to my most favorite second shooter, the lovely and talanted shannon stevenson!

lindsay and peter, congratulations to you both! i wish you many many years of love and happiness! and i hope you are having an amazing time on your honeymoon… in PARIS!! how romantic! i just loved working with you both!

jaclyn and brad : just married | st. anne’s academy, victoria bc

they met at a wedding in 2007 – and it was pretty much love at first sight!  jaclyn and brad have an amazing relationship and their love for each other was felt by every single person who celebrated their wedding day with them. they live in alberta but decided to have a destination wedding in victoria – where they spent their first vacation together as a couple. they fell in love with the mountains and the ocean and knew it was the perfect setting for their wedding.

on august 1st, they celebrated their wedding ceremony at st. anne’s academy in victoria along with their family and closest friends.  on a side note, i was pleasantly surprised when i arrived at st. anne’s and  met the minister who would be marrying jaclyn and brad – it was the same minister who married my husband and i almost 15 years ago!  after the ceremony and garden reception, we headed to beacon hill park and and then to the ocean for some formal portraits before we made our way to the delta ocean pointe resort and spa for their wedding reception.  when jaclyn and brad decided to get married on august 1st, they had no idea that it would coincide with the victoria symphony splash in the inner harbour.  as a bonus, their evening was topped off with an amazing fireworks display! it just doesn’t get any better than that!

congratulations jaclyn and brad! it was such a pleasure meeting you both and i am thrilled to have had the honour of photographing your wedding day for you! i wish you both many, many years of love and happiness and cannot wait to meet your children one day – all 12 6 of them! :)

and a huge thank you to the fabulous shannon stevenson for second shooting with me and capturing this amazing shot of jaclyn and brad’s wedding at st. anne’s academy!

jacque and daryl : just married

they met in 2005 through a mutual friend. she had no interest at first but he would tease and introduce her as his “wife” to others around them and say that they were on their honeymoon. little did she know that it would one day come true! he was persistent and eventually won over her heart and they fell in love. they were married this past saturday, in a very fun loving and intimate wedding ceremony surrounded by their family and closest friends.

congratulations jacque and daryl! thank you for allowing me to capture your wedding memories!
