stuff…….

November 30, 2007

random thoughts and stuff.

emily sold another $200 or so worth of cards for her spca fund raising. the craft fair last weekend was a great success.

there has been a ‘peter pan’ rehearsal every night this week. we missed the tuesday night one because of the snow! yes, i said snow! we got about 4 inches. not too much and it’s just about gone.

we are expecting more snow this weekend. great! just great!

today was report card day. i must admit that derek and i were a little nervous opening tyler’s. he is a very bright kid but he doesn’t always make the "right" choices. he’s six. what more do i need to say! it’s fair to say that he’s definitely not the "teacher’s pet". not by a LONG shot. we were expecting a much more negative report from his teacher but she actually gave him a very positive one! way to go tyler! that makes me a very proud momma!

emily received all A’s. once again, that makes me a very proud momma!

we watched emily’s first basketball game today. she told me that she "sucked" (her word not mine!) at basketball. i don’t know what happened today. that girl was on F.I.R.E.! her team won. they were very excited! and so were we.

a sports photographer, i am not!

derek and tyler went to a santa parade tonight. derek’s work entered a float in it so tyler got to ride through the parade on it.

i am tired. tomorrow night is opening night for the peter pan production. it has almost sold out completely (19 seats left for the sunday evening show) for all 5 shows. tonight was the full dress rehearsal. i took tons of pictures. i had the upper balcony to myself (well, sort of) so i was able to move around, from side to side, without bothering anyone.

emily’s first pirate scene. i love that she looked right at me! don’t they all look so great!

and i love this one of "peter pan" dancing with "his" (the part is being played by a young lady) shadow once "he" found it.

the christmas cards

November 19, 2007

you all remember (at least i hope you all do) that emily is creating cards and selling them with all proceeds going directly to the spca. she began this endeavor back in august (read about it here) and has raised just over $250 so far. her goal is to reach $1000 by the end of 2007.

she has been very busy working on some new designs with the spirit of christmas in mind. she and i are hosting a table at her school this saturday afternoon with the hopes of selling quite a few cards! here’s a peek at her new designs. look for them soon in her etsy store, emily’s card factory and more.

i’m so happy i had the day off yesterday to go and meet her. congrats to you both, shonna and chris! you are wonderful parents just as i knew you would be. thank you for letting me photograph your precious little bundle.

i took em and ty out about a month ago to get some fall pictures. with all of my client sessions, the trip to arizona and then having my computer crash, i’m just now getting around to editing them. i will be slowly adding a few from this session over the next week or so. i hope you don’t get bored looking at them!

they were perfect models for me…. well, almost! we had lots of fun.

and of course, i made them jump! :)
