i read about this technique the other day which gives images a “painterly, ethereal, and romantic” look and feel. it is inspired by a talented vancouver island photographer michael orton. i wanted to try it on some of the images that i took while visiting peggy’s cove, nova scotia in 2005. i think it looks kind of cool!

just before christmas, i signed up for a photography course with photographer wendy schulz. it doesn’t officially start until january 8th, but last week she gave us an optional pre-session assignment. we had to submit 3 images. one of each depicting glory, desolate and security.
wendy critiqued my images tonight and all i have to say is, wow! am i ever glad that i signed up for this course. so much to learn. and what a better way to learn it than to be mentored by a professional!

As mentioned in my last post, I am starting a new venture. I’m not sure where it will take me but I going to do it anyway.
There is a new trend that is happening right now. Some of you may already know about it, but for those of you who don’t it’s called wall graffiti. Vinyl lettering that you place on your wall. It can be words, expressions or even a graphic. Well, since Derek has a sign business, I’ve decided to begin my own spin off from his company.
