photography sun flare

if you follow this blog at all on a regular basis, you know that i LOVE sun flare! love it! and i love experimenting whenever i can with the sun. i was going through some pics that i took last month and i found this one. how i managed to overlook it the first time around is beyond me. i love going back through my images to see what treasures may have been missed the first time around.

i’m so happy that i found this one tonight.

Christopher: I like lens flares too Kathy, in fact I have a very thick book at work that descibes the science behind them and how and why they change with each lens if you want. I have to make fake ones almost everyday so it's handy to read. Great shot by the way, nice framing and the colours are perfect.

kp: thanks chris! i would love to see the book sometime. i understand a bit of the science but would be cool to learn more. :)

meet brodie.

a 3-month golden retriever. the newest addition to my best friend, michelle’s family. we finally got to meet him this past weekend for the first time.

he’s so cute and soft and cuddly! makes me start thinking about the possibilitity of maybe getting another dog… maybe….. oh gosh, what am i saying….

Jennifer Swanepoel: I just love golden retrievers! I grew up with them, but in my adult life I've developed a strong allergy to dogs. Makes me sad. Goldens are the sweetest dogs in the world!

Danielle Neil: What a cutie!! He looks so proud :)

Kelli: He is cute! We have a 2 1/2 yr. old golden. He has been called 'The Most Stubborn Golden Ever' by our obedience trainer. His antics get blogged about more than they should.

august long weekend

we’ve been having an exceptionally warm summer here on the west coast. and even though the extreme dryness is causing many unwanted forest fires throughout our beautiful province, it makes for great camping weather, even with a campfire ban in effect.

this past weekend we went camping with some of our closest and dearest friends in one of the most beautiful spots i’ve ever camped, sprout lake. such a gorgeous place. the water was crystal clear and oh so warm. our weekend was made up of lots of boating, tube rides, water skiing, rope jumping and of course, a few beverages to keep us cool! i can’t wait to go back again.
