[...] don’t forget the cans for comments campaign. it’s still going [...]

i have TONS of pictures and video clips from our trip to hawaii back in april that i want to share but i just haven’t had time. so this weekend, i set aside time to do a few things just for me and this evening,  i put together my very first fusion video. what is a fusion video, you ask? well, it’s when you join  still photography and video clips to make a movie and it has become very popular in the world of photography.  i hope to introduce it into my photography sessions for 2010, especially the RAD GRAD sessions!

though i must warn you – it’s very rough -  but i had lots of fun making it and i can’t wait to find some time to make some more!

one of our first days on maui was spent at big beach. we had lots of fun playing in the waves or riding the wake, as the kids called it!

enjoy! and i’d love to hear what you think so please leave a comment.

marcus : RAD GRAD 2010

November 21, 2009

i’d like to introduce you all to marcus. he’s another RAD GRAD 2010 rep for kp photography. when i met marcus for the first time, i was very impressed by his level of maturity and his sense of modesty. he was very inquisitive about what the RAD GRAD campaign was all about – he asked alot of questions. ALOT!  and i like that!

i asked marcus to tell me a bit a bit himself and this is what he wrote: individuality is huge, as is standing up for the little guy. i can’t stand bullies. music is huge in my life. my favorite genre is jazz, after that its either rap of techno. respect is huge for me. and i believe that you have to earn it. and i think that people often hide inside their comfort zone. i like to explore things that may scare other people. i like expressing idea’s that may offend other people. (but i try to express them in a way that will not offend.) i just like making people think a little more deeply about life.

he also told me that he didn’t photograph very well.

with all due respect, i beg to differ!

(i’m stepping a little outside my comfort zone and posting his images in black & white – it’s been awhile since i’ve posted any on here.)

the sutton family : sneak peek

November 13, 2009

when she received the pictures that i took at her son’s daycare session,  she emailed me to ask if i had any openings. she said the pictures were  ‘fantastic’ and she wanted to schedule a family session, just for the three of them. i quickly looked at my calendar and gave her some dates. and the rest they say, is history!

i was really looking forward to their session. i remembered little c from the daycare and thought he was such a little cutie! when we met yesterday morning, it was a perfect day!  it was overcast (perfect lighting), not raining and best of all, the temperature was very mild.

it was great meeting you sutton family and i hope we get to work together again one day! enjoy your sneak peek!

katie : RAD GRAD 2010

November 12, 2009

this past sunday, katie and i headed out for her RAD GRAD session. it was the best kind of morning for a photo session – and by that i mean NO RAIN! haha! we started out in the studio for a few quick shots with her min pin, ella and then we went to the stable where she keeps her horse. the shots of katie with nira, her horse, are some of my absolute favorite from the session. i love that she incorporated all the things that are a big part of her life right now. that’s EXACTLY what RAD GRAD sessions are all about – capturing YOU during this exciting chapter in your life!

katie is a beautiful girl – both inside and out!  she’s a very BUSY girl too. not only is she studying hard to graduate this year, she’s also got her puppy, her horse, a job AND she’s a model with barbara coultish models in victoria.

i’m proud to have katie as one of my RAD GRAD reps this year! here are a few faves from her session. RAD GRAD 2010 by KP Photography
