my RAD GRAD portraits

i can’t believe i am posting these!

yup! that’s me. these are my graduation pictures. the two on the left are from high school – i won’t mention how many years ago they were taken but the farrah fawcett hair-do should give you a hint. the third on is my university grad portrait and the last on on the right is my graduation from victoria general hospital and bcitWOAH!! just look at that BIG hair!  it’s ok, you can laugh – i certainly am!

looking at these pictures again brings back lots of memories – but only of my graduation itself. they don’t trigger memories of who i truly was at the time they were taken. and that’s why i am so passionate about the RAD GRAD Portrait campaign. RAD GRAD portraits sessions are all about YOU – right now – during this very special time in your life. the are fun, modern and unique, capturing your style and personality.

there’s still time to book a RAD GRAD Portrait session before the end of the school year. if you’re interested, please click  HERE to book your session.

odds ‘n ends

another crazy week here at the paton household. we’ve got a ton of landscaping and gardening to do – something i know very little about but i’m learning. i just hope it doesn’t look like we’ve just slapped it all together when we’re finished. i keep thinking we should just hire someone but i’m always up for a challenge.

tyler’s lacrosse season has started – at least one practice and one game every week from now until the end of june. emily began sewing lessons last week. i’m so pleased that she wants to learn how to sew. it’s something that i did when i was her age and i remember absolutely loving it. so why aren’t i teaching her you ask? well, it’s not something that i kept up. i can sew straight lines and could probably follow a pattern if i had to but i think it’s best if i leave it to a pro – thanks vicky!

and as usual, here’s a small collection of pictures from my iphone this last month. happy monday!

lucy : portrait session

yesterday i made a reference on my twitter account that i had just finished a fun portrait session with an unusual client. i  don’t usually do pet portraits but when i was asked if i could do a session with lucy, i thought “sure, why not!”. lucy is a labradoodle and is one of the sweetest, mildest mannered dogs i have ever met! and though she was a bit timid when we first started her session, she was a total star yesterday!

and i have to admit, i truly enjoyed working with her! it makes me think we need to get a dog!

jaclyn & brad : victoria engagement

jaclyn and i have been emailing each other back and forth for months now and it was so great to finally get to meet her and brad on tuesday. i had sent them my getting to know you questionnaire and i felt like i already knew them so well. we trounced around victoria for a few hours, dodging the rain for most of the morning. we finished our session around noon and that was when the skies opened up and the rain came down in buckets! i am not kidding! talk about great timing.

their wedding is at st. ann’s academy in august – it’s such a beautiful venue.  i haven’t photographed a wedding there yet so i am really looking forward to it!  until then, enjoy a few more images from their engagement session.
