carrie & philip :: engaged!

saturday was a blustery day with dark clouds looming and threatening a big downpour of rain. but that didn’t hinder the fun we had shooting carrie and philip’s engagement session. they’re such a fun couple and so comfortable in front of the camera.  they’re getting married next summer but decided to do their engagement session now so they could use the pictures for their save the date cards.

carrie & philip, thank you for allowing me to capture your love through your engagement pictures. i’m really looking forward to your wedding next july!

i love photographing in downtown Victoria – especially at night! i don’t normally post all the images in black and white but i just loved the look of these when i converted them… so, all in black and white it is!

announcemnet :: beginner photoraphy workshop

i get asked all the time if i teach photography. i always giggle to myself and answer politely that i don’t. but you kept asking. and asking. which kept me thinking about it. and after much debating back and forth on whether i should or shouldn’t, i have decided to offer up a beginner’s workshop. here’s the low-down…

i love our life together : it’s personal

this past week i celebrated 15 amazing years of marriage with my husband derek. i can hardly believe it’s been 15 years already. seriously! it’s gone by so fast! but one thing is for certain,  it’s been GREAT! more than i could have ever imagined. we’ve been through so much – it’s always been an adventure and we have supported each other through all of it. i just couldn’t imagine a life without him – he’s my best friend. and i love him with my whole heart, unconditionally! i just wish he’d pick up his socks instead of leaving them on the floor by the couch!personal i love our life together : its personal

i’d like to say thank you to all those who sent best wishes and congratulations our way. and thank you to my wonderful mother-in-law, who sent us a beautiful bouquet of flowers! we truly appreciate and love each and every one of you!

wanna hear something really cool – we gave each other the EXACT SAME card!

jake : six months

he’s only been a part of our family for just over 2 months but we cannot imagine life without him. he’s such a great dog! it’s sometimes easy to forget that he’s only six months old – mostly because of his size  – he SO BIG already!! but also because of how smart he is too. we love him and he’s definitely filled a void that existed in our family that we didn’t even know was there.
