i absolutely LOVE it when my clients show up with props! when i met michelle and her family last night, her dad brought along this 1951 pontiac – a treasured family heirloom.
michelle is a beautiful young lady and i have no doubts that she will accomplish all of her goals and aspirations in life. she’s a dancer and a member of the canadian forces reserves – hence the army boots! have i mentioned how much i LOVE props? thanks for a fun RAD GRAD session michelle! enjoy your sneak peek!
last week was a total whirlwind for me. i spent the better part of the last eight days shooting sports teams and performers. not my usual type of work but it was lots of fun! i have lots to blog about so stay tuned. be sure to subscribe to this blog by clicking on the link above – that way you’re sure to never miss a new post!
one of the groups i photographed were the performers at brentwood college school. they were getting ready for their annual dance performance which took place last weekend. congratulations to all the brentwood performers for receiving several prestigious awards this year.
on friday afternoon i drove to chemainus for a fun RAD GRAD portrait session with zoe and adam. they were going to their grad that night and wanted to capture some unique RAD GRAD portraits to remember the momentous occasion. it was our first time meeting and even though we only spent just under two hours together, i was very impressed. these two young adults have very bright futures ahead of them. they have careers chosen, that they will attend post secondary education for in the fall, and they are both young entrepreneurs – they make jewelry and sell it at markets and hopefully soon, on the web. i told you i was impressed!
the town held a small parade for the grads as they made their way to the bus. everybody made their entrance unique – wait until you see how zoe and adam made theirs….. enjoy the sneak peek!
it’s that time of year again when steps ahead dance is getting ready for their end of year performance. tutus and pretty outfits are in abundance! my daughter has attended this fabulous dance school for 5 years now. the show is always amazing and is usually a sell out for all three performances. i spent the better part of the day on saturday at brentwood college school taking pictures for a slideshow that will be shown between acts one and two during the show. it’s all about candid shots and this year, i am going to even try a little fusion and incorporate some video into it too. lots of fun!

yup! that’s me. these are my graduation pictures. the two on the left are from high school – i won’t mention how many years ago they were taken but the farrah fawcett hair-do should give you a hint. the third on is my university grad portrait and the last on on the right is my graduation from victoria general hospital and bcit – WOAH!! just look at that BIG hair! it’s ok, you can laugh – i certainly am!
looking at these pictures again brings back lots of memories – but only of my graduation itself. they don’t trigger memories of who i truly was at the time they were taken. and that’s why i am so passionate about the RAD GRAD Portrait campaign.
