such a fabulous group of young ladies! there is no doubt in my mind that they will be best friends forever!

if you haven’t – then you need to know that having a photobooth at your wedding reception or social gathering is the best entertainment and so much fun! the photobooth captures the exciting atmosphere of the occasion, creating lifelong memories of one of the best parties of your life! it’s such a blast to be able to look back through the photographs and remember the friendly rivalry between siblings while trying to make the goofiest face or seeing all twelve of your highschool buddies try to fit into a small space for the picture. seeing your friends and relatives enjoying your celebration is priceless!

i first “met” gillian online about a year and a half ago when we started following each other on twitter. she’s a portrait and wedding photographer from comox and she’s getting married to brandon in may. brandon is also her partner/ second shooter in her photography business. i was thrilled when she hired me to be their wedding photographer and i must admit, a little nervous! for me, it’s always a little nerve wracking to photograph another photographer – which is totally silly, i know.
this past sunday, gillian and brandon came to victoria for their engagement session. lucky for us, the weather cooperated long enough for us to finish. i’m looking forward to their wedding in comox – my official first wedding of 2011! and a huge thank you to my wonderful assistant, emily, for holding equipment and umbrellas – even though we didn’t really need them.
sometimes, as artists, we can find ourselves in a rut. and that’s where i’ve been. in a little bit of a rut – hence the absence of blog posts. one way that i get myself out of the rut is to look at other photography blogs to gain inspiration. there’s a photographer in salmon arm who always inspires me with her beautiful images. her name is andrea blair of paper horse photography and she photographs mostly horses. her work is so amazing and inspiring. true art.
one evening in early march, as i was looking at andrea’s blog and i thought to myself, “i think i want to shoot a session with a horse”! and so, over spring break i did just that! what fun! christina was so sweet and schatzy was so proud. i look forward to doing another session with a horse one day soon, so if you know someone who would like to do a session, please send them my way!
