last saturday i had the pleasure of meeting and photographing this little 5 week old beauty. i met her parents back in 2007 when i was second shooting at their wedding. it’s always such an honour to photograph the babies of previous wedding clients and so delightful to watch their families grow!
a few weeks ago, i tweeted and shared a picture that someone had a very special day coming up soon. i made a couple of special birthday hats and jake and i had fun one afternoon doing a special birthday photo session. ok, well maybe it was only me who had a little fun – jake wasn’t too sure what to think and by the end of it, he was a little scared i think.
jake was 4 months old when he came to live with us and over the last 8 months, he has truly become the missing link that our family needed so much. there are days that i feel bad and wonder “why did we ever get a dog?”. we are such a busy family and sometimes don’t give him the attention he needs or deserves but we always try to make it up to him with a fun trip to the dog park. he’s such a happy dog and always so excited to be with us. he loves to torment the cats. he is very smart! he’s learned to sit, shake-a-paw, lye down, and roll over. he’s working on a new trick but i think it’s going to take some time.

offering digital negatives to my clients is a huge part of why my business has been so successful. it’s what you want and it’s part of my job to keep you happy. but often times, when i check in with past clients and i ask them what have they done with their digital negatives, the response i get makes me so sad.
nothing. they’ve done nothing with them at all. maybe they’ve downloaded the negatives to their facebook account or emailed a few to grandma and grandpa but for the most part, the images are still sitting on the disc. the portraits i create for you are meant to be printed and displayed with pride throughout your home. they are meant to be a part of your story – a chapter in your life. and that’s why in 2010, i decided that all of my digital collections would include prints.

i love unexpected snow days. it’s a rare occurrence in these parts, but when it does snow, i gotta admit, i kind of like it!
jake isn’t quite sure what to think of the snow. i couldn’t resist taking a few pictures of him on our walk before dinner. he has grown so much but i think it’s safe to assume that he’s pretty much done now. thank goodness!
after trying fro many, many month, i was finally able to get my hands on the new iphone 4 a few weeks ago! i’m so glad i upgraded. the retina display alone was worth the upgrade! the the built-in camera is great and i love that i can shoot HD video with it too. i’m still working on my project for last years iphone pictures. i can’t wait to share it with you!
