happy new year my friends!

it’s 2012. a new year. with new beginnings, fun adventures, and a fresh outlook on everything.

it’s been over a month since i’ve posted anything new on this blog but i’m happy to be back. i decided back in december that i needed to take a bit of time away from kp photography and from my computer during the holidays and spend that time to just focus on my family. 2011 was a very tough year for me personally (i’ll post more on that later) but i am excited about what 2012 has in store. i’m excited to be photographing a few weddings again this year, as well as focusing more on Boudoir and RAD GRAD portraits too!

and what’s a post without a photo! here’s jake, thinking about how AWESOME it would be, to be outside chasing the cat he’s staring at through the window. dream on jake! dream on!

when one of the four people is out of the country for most of the month of november, you must resort to creative measures for getting the job done. i thought up this photo concept one night while i was lying in bed… pouting and feeling disappointed that i was most likely going to miss another month of my little project because derek was away for most of november and we didn’t get a chance to take a photo before he left.

i am so thankful for skype!

and movember! we strapped a cardboard mustache onto the laptop monitor and set the self timer on the camera. what fun!

i couldn’t decide on just one so i here are my favorites.

life has once again gotten in the way of my little project. between fall family sessions, designing wedding albums, prepping and representing RAD GRAD at the Cowichan Prom Fair, my hubby traveling back and forth to England for his work, all the kids extra-circular activities and just being a Mom… I just haven’t had time to blog much less take a photo for myself.

so, i’m totally cheating on this one. we took this back in september. not sure why the guys aren’t smiling but i love it anyway.

i’m looking forward to taking and sharing our next four people twelve times photo. i love when i can pre-visualize it in my mind.

disclaimer: i haven’t given up on this project. even though we didn’t get any photos taken in june or july, i’m not going to beat myself up about it. there was just too much going on. i am determined to keep it going.
