2009 christmas memories

January 9, 2010

it seems like it was so long ago but it’s only been 2 weeks.  lights, elf hats, rock band, christmas cheer, gift giving, magical wizard wands, remote controls, great food and fun times – all such great memories of a wonderful holiday season filled with friends, family and the beautiful spirit of christmas.

kathyp: hey sarah - it looks like you're actually singing the song that's in the movie! :)

Sarah: That was a fun time I had singing "that Christmas song" - wink, wink! I love the orange hat and glasses pics - we did that at our Christmas dinner too - everyone wore those big nose glasses!

i have TONS of pictures and video clips from our trip to hawaii back in april that i want to share but i just haven’t had time. so this weekend, i set aside time to do a few things just for me and this evening,  i put together my very first fusion video. what is a fusion video, you ask? well, it’s when you join  still photography and video clips to make a movie and it has become very popular in the world of photography.  i hope to introduce it into my photography sessions for 2010, especially the RAD GRAD sessions!

though i must warn you – it’s very rough -  but i had lots of fun making it and i can’t wait to find some time to make some more!

one of our first days on maui was spent at big beach. we had lots of fun playing in the waves or riding the wake, as the kids called it!

enjoy! and i’d love to hear what you think so please leave a comment.

i got a feeling…. that today IS gonna be a good day. some exciting things on the horizon at kp photography.

later today i have a session with three beautiful, vivacious women. we’re doing a boudoir photography session and we’re all pretty excited about it. what’s boudoir photography you ask? well, it’s tasteful, sexy and sensual images for ladies of all ages, shapes, and sizes. usually shot in a bedroom but can be done basically anywhere you choose. lingerie, jewelry, high heels and other fun props are also incorporated into the setting. traditionally, this type of photography has been mostly utilized by brides to surprise their future husbands but recently has become more than just a passing fad and the trend is certainly gaining momentum! i am really looking forward to this session and i can’t wait to share some images with you.

make today a good good day! :)

Cathy Empey: Oooh! Have fun Kathy! Boudoir is awesome to shoot! Yay!

every now and then, a girl needs to have time to herself. right? and every now and then, a girl needs to have time and spend it with her girlfriends cause let’s face it, no one understands you better than your girlfriends! all you ladies know exactly what i mean!

well, last wednesday night, i left my husband and children behind while i embarked on a 5 day road trip with three of the most wonderful girlfriends a girl could ever have. over the course of 2 days, we made our way to calgary. we were going to the calgary stampede to see kenny chesney!!! now, those who know me well, know that i have a not-so-secret-crush on this hillbilly rockstar. they may even go so far and say that it i have a little OCD issue with him but i think that’s a little extreme. ;)

anyway, we had a fabulous time. lots of talking, sharing, singing, laughing, shopping and “giddy-up” but not much sleep! i took lots of pictures and video but i am only posting one tonight.

i leave you with kenny’s encore performance (part of it anyway) of don’t blink. this song has so much meaning to me, especially now as i see how life is just flying by. you may not be able to hear it well but at the beginning of the song, kenny says “this song is about what we’ve been doing all night everybody- about living life to the fullest, having a great time and never taking it for granted, alright. and you’ve been absolutely, unbelievable tonight!”

so true, so true!

thanks girls for a fab-U-las time! i love you all! mwah!

more video and pictures comig soon…. i promise!
